my in on my man
This is a picture Daniel took of himself to show a friend the tattoos I have done on him. The bands are the oldest, the victorian work in between the bands were next. He had a C’thulhu idol tattooed on his calf after that, and last summer we did the lion’s head on his chest. What is next?

He is a pretty good photographer, check out his tumblr blog and see for yourself!

cover art for Hard to Swallow comics vol.2 #1
So i am still hoping to get this thing done for sdcomicon next month. Just finished the front cover art… it took a while to come up with an idea I liked. I am working on the logo and the final interior pages now.

I am also considering advertisers to help with printing costs. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone want to donate or sponsor a page? Buy original page artwork from the book?

Tattoo SCAM
so occasionally I get an e-mail like this:
“Greetings,
This is Brad Scott. I want to book for tattoo drawings in your studio for group of 10, we are spending our vacation in your country for three weeks in the month of Sept 2010 and in line with our plans we need to draw tattoo in your studio.
We need two tattoos each on the chest and back for images like scorpion, flower, house or any beautiful image that can be good in tattoos as your suggestions will be appreciated.
Kindly confirm the best dates for you in the month of Sept 2010 and how many days it will take you to finish the tattooing for the group of 10 persons booking and also confirm if your firm will be able to handle this.
Awaits your email,
Regards,
Brad Scott”
I researched the e-mail address and the top result is a page titled
“Known Scammer Names used in Art Scams“.
It’s pretty amazing the lengths people go to, and still ask for something dumb that gives it away like “house or any beautiful image that can be good in tattoos”.
Or maybe beautiful house tattoos are the next big thing?

Hard to Swallow comics, vol. 2
So I have been hoping to get the first issue of volume 2 of Hard to Swallow out by Comic-con in San Diego this summer. It may still happen, depends on how fast I can work. If not, the fall back plan is for the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco in the fall. This here is the back cover, featuring the characters from the story “Code Blue”.

advertising on inked-up
Hey peeps,
So I decided to support Inked-up by advertising with them. I stalled while working on a new logo… picking something to represent yourself artistically has always been tough for me. Let me know if you like the design, I may replace the current obake/skull design with it.
